Rescues
I volunteered with Makants Greyhound Rescue for a few years. Siobhan and the team work extremely hard to find forever homes for mainly ex-racing greyhounds.
Spending time walking such lovely hounds has been a pleasure and I have had my heart stolen by one or two along the way. I’ve also done the odd bit of fundraising to ensure the good work of rehoming the ex-racing hounds can continue.
Rochdale Dog Rescue have also kennelled a few of their dogs at Makants and over the years I’ve been able to take some for a walk when our greys have all been out. They do fantastic work in saving dogs that are at risk of being put to sleep.
If you are looking to welcome a new member to the family please consider adopting from one of these rescues and give these wonderful dogs a second chance at having a loving home and a happy life, because they really deserve it.
